The Port of Algiers (El-Jazair) is the main seaport of Algeria located along the Bay of Algiers, built on the slopes of Sahel Hills. It is a large deep-water seaport with a 22.9m deep water channel and a 7.6m long cargo pier. The port area has 39 berths including general cargo, containers, grain, and fodder berths. There are modern cargo handling facilities, forklifts, and electronic lifts available. Nearby towns include Wahran, Tuggurt, Adrar, and Medda.
