Amedee Lighthouse, located on Amédée Isle (Îlot Amédée), is a historic monument and a popular tourist destination in Nouméa, New Caledonia. The lighthouse offers breathtaking views of the lagoon, reef, and mountains of Grande Terre from its 247-step climb to the top. Built in 1865, it is the tallest metallic lighthouse in the world and has a range of 24.5 nautical miles. Visitors can also enjoy snorkeling in the marine reserve surrounding the island. The Mary D team provides day trip packages with activities such as a buffet lunch, Tahitian dance shows, and glass-bottom boat tours. The island boasts a white sandy beach, a small post office, souvenir shops, and facilities for various water sports including snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking.
