It is part of the Pedernales-Cabo Rojo Tourism Development Project promoted by the Dominican government, aiming to create a maximum capacity of over a million cruise ship passengers annually. The port features four berths, a water park, spa, beach area, shopping, and entertainment facilities. Visitors can explore the region's beautiful beaches, mountains, hidden caverns, and diverse wildlife including flamingos, manatees, sea turtles, and iguanas. Activities include swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, bird-watching, hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, and enjoying the picturesque Cabo Rojo Lighthouse. Playa de Boquerón and Laguna de Cabo Rojo are must-visit attractions offering pristine beaches, mangrove forests, and birdwatching opportunities.
