Genovesa Island Port
El Barranco, Genovesa, Galapagos
Genovesa Island, also known as Tower, is located in the northern part of the Galapagos archipelago. This remote island is a paradise for birdwatchers, offering breathtaking views of thousands of bird species like red-footed boobies, frigatebirds, Galapagos storm petrels, and Madeiran storm petrels. Genovesa's semi-circular shape, resulting from a collapsed volcanic rim, provides excellent snorkeling opportunities with a variety of sealife. The island features two main visitor sites, Prince Philip's Steps and Darwin Bay, both offering unique birdwatching experiences and a chance to spot the elusive short-eared owl. A panga ride along the cliffs allows visitors to witness Galapagos fur seals, red-billed tropicbirds, and the beautiful landscapes of the island. Be sure to explore the Palo Santo and croton forest, lava fields, and lava cactus on your visit.
