Welcome to the Port of Avatiu, the principal port of the Cook Islands located in Avarua, Rarotonga. The port features a depth of 8m and a wharf length of 260m, with storage areas including 3 covered sheds totaling 2,240m2 and 5,000m2 of uncovered space. Equipment available includes forklifts ranging from 3T to 40T and 19 reefer points. The newly redeveloped Avatiu harbour, opened in April 2013, now accommodates larger vessels with a deeper entrance and turning circle, handling about 90% of food imports and 100% of the country’s fuel supply.
