Tracy Arm Fjord, part of Alaska's Fords Terror Wilderness Park, is a stunning natural wonder covering approximately 2643 km2 (1020 mi2) and consisting of two breathtaking narrow fjords - Tracy Arm to the north and Endicott Arm to the south. Endicott Arm, which is around 48 km (30 mi) long, showcases spectacular icy landscapes with approximately 20% of the waterway covered in ice during the summer months. Tracy Arm Fjord, located about 72 km (45 mi) south of Juneau and roughly 110 km (70 mi) north of Petersburg on Mitkof Island, is named after Benjamin Franklin Tracy, a former US Secretary of the Navy. Visitors can marvel at the rugged mountains, deep valleys, and majestic waterfalls that adorn the fjord, along with abundant wildlife sightings including bears, deer, eagles, harbor seals, and more. The area also offers opportunities for incredible wildlife viewing, with Sawyer Glaciers (North and South) at the end of Tracy Arm. Popular activities include boat tours, cruises, and floatplane tours departing from Juneau and Petersburg, providing a unique perspective of this scenic paradise.
