Urbina Bay, located on the southeast side of Alcedo volcano on Isabela Island, is a fascinating area that emerged from the sea due to volcanic activity in 1954. The site showcases a large coral reef, diverse plant life that changes with the seasons, and unique wildlife like giant tortoises and land iguanas in their natural habitats. Visitors can spot flycatchers, Darwin’s finches, and mockingbirds along the trail. Activities include a 1-hour 45-minute hike, 1-hour beach snorkeling, with highlights such as a spectacular view of Alcedo volcano, encounters with marine iguanas, flightless cormorants, penguins, sea turtles, and colorful fish.
