Zurich, Switzerland

Situated in the northwestern part of Switzerland, Basel is a key commercial city known for its thriving pharmaceutical industry, electrical industries, machinery production, and silk textiles. The Port of Basel, also known as the Port of Switzerland, is the country's most important river port, strategically located at the heart of Europe. Despite being a river port, it plays a crucial role in handling the majority of Swiss exports and imports. It has trimodal container terminals, grain silos, storage areas, and tanks for petrol and mineral oil. The port boasts 60 fully operational cranes and 20 landing platforms for cabin ships. The Basel port has been steadily growing and handled 5,126,780 tonnes of cargo in 2020. Tourists can enjoy the city's rich history, cultural sites, and cruise ships departing from its modern passenger terminal. About 1,50,000 tourists visit the port every year.
